Since 1946, the American Cancer Society has invested more than $5 billion in cancer research, making it the largest non‑governmental, non‑profit funder of cancer research in the United States outside of the federal government. Through grants and its own research efforts, ACS supports hundreds of scientists at institutions nationwide — funding work that spans basic biology, cancer causes, early detection, treatment advances, survivorship, and health equity. ACS’s investment fuels breakthrough discoveries, improves prevention and screening guidelines, and helps ensure better outcomes and quality of life for people facing cancer.
We are Celebrating 32 years of the American Cancer society’s Hope Lodge – St. Louis!
The Hope Lodge program provides free, temporary lodging for people with cancer and their caregivers when treatment is far from home. Since opening in 1995, the American Cancer Society World Wide Technology Hope Lodge – St. Louis has offered 42 comfortable guest suites with private baths, along with welcoming spaces designed to feel like home. Last year alone, Hope Lodge – St. Louis welcomed 1,560 individuals facing cancer and their caregivers, providing a total of 23,797 nights of free lodging. The annual operations of Hope Lodge – St. Louis cost approximately 1.2 million dollars, and its doors would not stay open without your unwavering support to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.
Every cancer. Every life.
For more than 10 decades, the American Cancer Society has been dedicated to pursuing better outcomes for every cancer, every life. Today, more people are surviving cancer than ever before, but there is still work to be done. Join us, support us, and help us end cancer as we know it, for everyone.
